Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Management

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) states that "the long-term goal of the program is to re-establish valuable land cover to help improve water quality, prevent soil erosion, and reduce loss of wildlife habitat."

  • Benefits of Participating in the Iowa CRP

    (As listed on the FSA Website)

    • 10-15 years of annual rental payments
    • Payments of up to 50% Cost-Share for practice establishment
    • Practices enrolled through CRP Continuous Signup will also receive:
    1. A 50% Practice Incentive Payment (PIP)
    2. Sign-up Incentive Payment (SIP) equal to 32.5% of first full year’s annual rental payment
    3. A Climate Smart Annual Practice Incentive of 3,5, or 10% based on the practice cover
